A window cleaning business license is not that expensive and is renewed every year. It’s also easy to renew as they will send you a bill in the mail in case you forget rushing around making 100K dollars in window cleaning.

When you get your license in the mail don’t be confused when it tells you to have this placed in visible location at your place of business. My place of business is out of my home and I never have clients coming to my home. So I file mine in my business folder as I am not going to have it laying around in my car for someone to steal. 

You should probably check the law on this where you live as you might have to have this in your vehicle to show if a city official or police officer that wants to check your validity for operating a business in the city you are working in. I personally have never had this happen but I have heard of it happing to a window cleaner so look into it, better safe then sorry.

You don’t want to be out on a job washing windows only to have it stopped by some city official with nothing better to do then to search for small businesses like yourself to see if you have a license for window cleaning in the city your are working in.

A business license doesn’t really do anything for you, it’s just another way for government to take money from you. You don’t get anything from them except a piece of paper and a number, so they can track you to get even more money from your San Diego window cleaning business.

Your customers however are going to want to know that you have a business license so that they can feel that you are a legitimate window cleaning operation.
